I'll be at the Betz Gallery on Saturday night the 17th. If you live in or around Houston, I would love to see you there. The artist reception is at 2500 Summer Street in the Downtown arts District of Houston from 6pm to 9pm. Lots of exotic concotions and edibles are promised. I have one 12x12 in the show this year.
I had a good week already - sold two paintings and got accepted into the Betz Gallery 12x12 show in downtown Houston and then....What a huge surprise Saturday! There on an easel at the front door with the Best of Show ribbon was my painting 'My Brother and Me'! The show was the Kingwood Art Society Fall Show and you could have knocked me over with a feather. The reference for this painting was twin boys that I saw in Tomball, TX. They were there to dance with their parents at a pow wow and couldn't have been cuter. Their mother gave me permission to photograph and paint them and I am grateful that she did.
My other submissions for show also got ribbons. Here they are.
